How It Works
- Request a Fair — Fill out our contact form with your preferred format and dates.
- We Confirm Details — We’ll follow up to lock in your fair week. For mail-in fairs, a $400 refundable security deposit confirms your dates and shipping details.
- Fair Week — We set up on-site, your box arrives ready to display, or you share your online link.
- Settle Up — We send a prepaid label for any unsold books, refund your deposit (mail-in fairs), and send your school’s earnings after the fair closes.
What Your School Earns
- Your school, weekend program, or organization earns 15% back on total book fair sales as a fundraising kickback.
- No minimum order size required to host a fair.
- Returns accepted on unsold books from in-person and mail-in fairs — you’re never stuck with unsold inventory. For mail-in fairs, we email a prepaid return label so there’s no cost to you.
- In-person fairs have no deposit. Mail-in fairs require a $400 refundable security deposit to lock in your dates — it’s returned once the fair closes and unsold inventory is settled.
- For mail-in and in-person fairs, please plan for about 4–6 weeks advance notice so we can schedule and ship in time. Online-only fairs can usually be set up much faster.
- Tax-exempt accounts available on request for qualifying schools and nonprofits — just mention it when you reach out.

How far in advance do we need to book?
We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks ahead for in-person and mail-in fairs, especially for the weeks leading up to Ramadan — our busiest and most popular season. Online-only fairs can typically be set up on shorter notice.
What happens to books that don’t sell?
No problem — unsold books from in-person and mail-in fairs can be returned to us. For mail-in fairs, we email you a prepaid return label, so there’s no cost to you to send them back. You’re never stuck holding inventory you couldn’t sell.
Do we need to pay for anything upfront?
In-person and online-only fairs have no upfront cost at all. Mail-in fairs require a $400 refundable security deposit to lock in your dates — this isn’t a fee, it’s fully refunded once the fair closes and any unsold books are returned.
Why is there a deposit for mail-in fairs but not other formats?
With in-person fairs we’re on-site the whole time, and online-only fairs never involve shipping physical books. For mail-in fairs, we ship a full box of inventory to you unsupervised, so the $400 refundable deposit simply protects that inventory.
Can families shop online too?
Yes — every fair format includes a school-specific discount code and a link to our full online catalog at mykidshq.com, so families can shop beyond what’s on display.
Can we get a tax-exempt account?
Yes — qualifying schools and registered nonprofits can request a tax-exempt account. Just let us know when you reach out and we’ll get it set up.
Do you only work with full-time schools?
Not at all — we host fairs for full-time Islamic schools, weekend/Sunday schools, summer programs, and masjid or community events alike.
Which areas do you serve in person?
We serve the Greater Houston area in person — including Katy, Sugar Land, Stafford, Spring, Cypress, and Webster. Anywhere else in the US, our mail-in and online-only fairs work just as well.
We’re a small weekend school. Is a fair worth it for us?
Absolutely — weekend schools are some of our favorite partners. Our pop-up format works in a two-hour Sunday window, there’s no minimum order size, and many small programs use fairs as their easiest fundraiser of the year.
